Baseball Recap: Haslett Takes a Loss

Haslett fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Lansing Catholic on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 4-3. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 19, 2018, but that streak is no more.

Ayden Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Haslett's defeat dropped their record down to 19-12. As for Lansing Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-3-1 record this season.

Haslett wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 7-1 victory against Michigan Center on the 30th. As for Lansing Catholic, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against Springport on the 30th.
