Basketball Game Preview: The Gregory School Hawks vs. Bisbee Pumas

The Gregory School Hawks and the Bisbee Pumas will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. The Gregory School has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 13th.

On Thursday, The Gregory School was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 34-28 to North Valley Christian Academy. While the Hawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 15-2 in the first quarter.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Zena Smith, who posted nine points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Lauren Mayer was another key player, putting up four points.

Meanwhile, Bisbee was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 43-42 to St. Augustine Catholic. The Pumas have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The Gregory School's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Bisbee, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

The Gregory School took a serious blow against Bisbee when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 52-24. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bisbee's Alyssa Lopez, who earned 23 points.
