Baseball Recap: Cheney Tech Gets the Win

After losing to Goodwin RVT the last time they met, Cheney Tech decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Chargers came out on top against the Gladiators on Wednesday by a score of 6-5 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

The team relied heavily on Morgan Salkeld, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Cheney Tech's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Thomas Fortunato was another key player, earning one RBI, two runs, and four stolen bases.

The victory got Cheney Tech back to even at 4-4. As for Goodwin RVT, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cheney Tech will take on Windham RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Goodwin RVT, they will venture away from home to take on Norwich RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
