The Rochester Zebras are taking a road trip to face off against the Twin Lakes Indians at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Rochester's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Twin Lakes' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Rochester and Logansport had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Zebras took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Berries on Thursday. The Zebras have struggled against the Berries recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Tanner Reinartz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Twin Lakes entered their tilt with Western on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Panthers. Considering the Indians have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Mason Brummett made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Twin Lakes is 9-1 when Brummett posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carson Wagner, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Twin Lakes: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cooper Dold, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Twin Lakes lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April.
Rochester's defeat dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Twin Lakes, their record is now 14-8.
