Baseball Recap: Onalaska Comes Up Short

After flying high against Mossyrock on Wednesday, Onalaska came back down to earth. The Loggers fell just short of the Toutle Lake Fighting Ducks by a score of 11-9 on Friday. The Loggers have struggled against the Fighting Ducks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Onalaska got a good showing from Jaxon Dhone, who struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Dhone has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rowdy Lyons made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs.

Onalaska's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Toutle Lake, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3.

While Onalaska had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
