Basketball Recap: Lucerne Valley Takes a Loss

Lucerne Valley extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-4. They came up short against the Summit Leadership Academy EAGLES, falling 59-36. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-8.

As for Summit Leadership Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. The 59-point effort marked their lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Leading Summit Leadership Academy to victory were Lamar Johnson and Logan Graham. Johnson dropped a triple-double with 20 points, 17 rebounds, and 13 steals, while Graham almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 steals. With that strong performance, Johnson is now averaging an impressive 9.3 boards per game. Another player making a difference was DayDay Hilt, who posted 11 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Lucerne Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-29 victory against Trona on the 9th. As for Summit Leadership Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 79-59 win against Lakeview Leadership Academy on the 9th.
