Bartow hadn't done well against Mulberry recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets skirted past the Panthers 2-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Yellow Jackets as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Bartow who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 18-25, 15-9.

Bartow's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Mulberry, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Bartow has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Lake Wales on the 9th. Hopefully Mulberry paid attention to the Yellow Jackets' contest: the next time they hit the court , they'll take on the Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
