CJ Smith posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Wednesday. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
