Recap: Columbus Explorers vs. Western Wildcats
The Columbus Explorers extended their postseason success on Friday against the Western Wildcats. They strolled past the Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 31-13. Winning may never get old, but Columbus sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Columbus had a senior duo take command as Edward Bandy rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns and Alberto Mendoza threw for 141 yards while completing 76.2% of his passes.
Columbus pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.4 points per game. As for Western, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4.
Columbus will stay at home for another week and welcome Plant at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Plant: 12.1, Columbus: 11) so any points scored will be well earned. Western does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
