Baseball Game Preview: Bayonne Bees vs. Eastern Vikings

The Bayonne Bees will venture away from home to face off against the Eastern Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Bayonne has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, Bayonne didn't have quite enough to beat Cranford and fell 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Bees have lost by just one run.

Meanwhile, Eastern got the win against Middle Township on Tuesday by a conclusive 17-1. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Eastern is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bayonne, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.
