Basketball Recap: Ball Skates Past Victoria West with Ease

Ball picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 67-39 win over the Victoria West Warriors. The Tornadoes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Ball's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braeon Arceneaux, who went 7 of 12 from beyond the arc on her way to 29 points in addition to five boards and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Arceneaux has scored at least a third of Ball's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalyn Toussaint, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists.

Ball smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive games.

Ball is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Victoria West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7.

Ball (ranked 513th) will meet Texas City (ranked 1295th) at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Ball is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season. Similarly, Victoria West (ranked 349th) will meet Gonzales (ranked 825th) at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
