Berkeley Prep wins going away against Tampa Catholic

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Berkeley Prep Buccaneers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-28 victory over Tampa Catholic. Winning may never get old, but Berkeley Prep sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Joseph Troupe was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns. Dallas Golden was another key contributor, gaining 89 total yards and two touchdowns.

Berkeley Prep's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. In that department, Gavin Holman was the leader with 2.5 sacks.

Defeat or not, Tampa Catholic got some senior leadership from Tj Moore who picked up 170 receiving yards and three touchdowns and Trey Hedden who threw for 270 yards and four touchdowns on only 16 passes. Moore is on a roll when it comes to receiving yards, as he's now posted 100 or more in the last three games he's played.

Berkeley Prep's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.7 points per game. As for Tampa Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Berkeley Prep will be playing at home against Calvary Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 212 points over their last four games. Tampa Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
