Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Mooresville

Mooresville extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 14-5 in the process. Everything went their way against the Greenwood Woodmen as they made off with a 13-2 victory. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Aubrey Todd made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Sophie Culp was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April. Olivia Turner was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

As for Greenwood, they dropped their record down to 5-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly 11 runs.

On Greenwood's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Blythe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mooresville will challenge Carmel at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenwood, they will take on Columbus North at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Woodmen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bull Dogs have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
