Softball Recap: High Point Central Comes Up Short

If High Point Central was riding high fresh off their 26-6 takedown of Ben L. Smith on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bison came up short against the Southern Guilford Storm on Friday, falling 14-1. The Bison were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matchups prior), but the Storm's pitcher proved too tough.

High Point Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Southern Guilford, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-3.

Looking ahead, High Point Central will host Atkins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Camels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.89 runs per game on average), something the Bison will no doubt try to take advantage of. Southern Guilford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
