Softball Recap: Carolina Forest Takes a Loss

Carolina Forest fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Ashley Ridge on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Swamp Foxes by a score of 2-1. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Swamp Foxes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Kaysen Warehime spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Natalie Nesheiwat made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Carolina Forest and nudges their season record down to 17-11-1. As for Ashley Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-12-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Carolina Forest nor Ashley Ridge have any future games scheduled.
