Basketball Recap: Warren Skates Past Fort Frye with Ease

Warren had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 65-14 victory over the Fort Frye Cadets. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 21 points or more this season.

Warren's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Barry, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points. Another player making a difference was Chase Lupardus, who posted nine points and five steals.

Warren smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Warren's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.7 points. As for Fort Frye, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Warren and Fort Frye could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Warren (ranked 76th) will meet Minford (ranked 12th) at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Fort Frye will challenge Parkersburg Catholic at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday down 492 places (580 vs. 88).
