Recap: Lighthouse Private Christian Academy Stingrays vs. Destin Sharks
The Lighthouse Private Christian Academy Stingrays pushed their score all the way to 71 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Destin by a score of 74-71. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (64), Lighthouse Private Christian Academy still had to take the loss.
Destin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Traiton Mauffray led the charge by scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Bryson Nixon was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Lighthouse Private Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Destin, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lighthouse Private Christian Academy on the road again on Tuesday and play against Gulf Pointe Latin at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Destin, they will square off against Pine Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Forest will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
