Basketball Recap: West Bladen Comes Up Short

West Bladen was the 40-37 winner over Red Springs when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The West Bladen Knights took a 39-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Springs Red Devils on Monday.

Red Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nakira Hunt, who posted 13 points. What's more, Hunt also posted four rebounds, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Monica Washington was another key player, putting up five points and 14 boards.

West Bladen has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Red Springs, their record now sits at 8-16.

West Bladen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Red Springs, they are taking a road trip to challenge Fairmont at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Fairmont's favor as the squad sits on ten straight wins at home while Red Springs has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
