Basketball Recap: Calvert Hall Takes a Loss

Calvert Hall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 57-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McDonogh Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-57 back in December of 2024.

McDonogh's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeff Exinor led the charge by going 6 of 9 on his way to 16 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Bj Hopkins, who went 7 for 13 en route to 15 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.

Calvert Hall's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for McDonogh, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.

Calvert Hall has already played their next game (against Loch Raven), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. McDonogh will head out on the road to square off against St. Frances Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in St. Frances Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
