Recap: Elliot Christian Eagles vs. Big Valley Christian Lions
The Elliot Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 73-45 loss at the hands of Big Valley Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Elliot Christian has suffered against Big Valley Christian since January 21, 2020.
Despite the loss, Elliot Christian still got an impressive performance from Jeremy Nielsen, who scored 17 points along with five assists and three steals. Nielsen continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Gaither, who scored seven points along with 14 rebounds and six blocks.
Big Valley Christian found their leader in underclassman Titus Beers, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Titus Boone was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven assists and four steals.
Elliot Christian's loss was their 12th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-12. As for Big Valley Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 17-4.
Elliot Christian will head out on the road to square off against Millennium at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Big Valley Christian, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Turlock Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Turlock Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1256th, while Big Valley Christian is ranked 596th).
