Volleyball Recap: Holmes County Blue Devils vs. Sneads Pirates
Holmes County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Sneads Pirates, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
While Holmes County was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-22, 25-6.
Kinsley Parker paced Holmes County's offense, picking up three kills. Parker really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with three.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sneads to victory, but perhaps none more so than Morgan Veilleux, who had nine digs and one block. Another player making a difference was LaRay Gibbs, who had 23 digs.
Holmes County's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Sneads, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Holmes County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Vernon on the 13th. As for Sneads, they will square off against Altha at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
