League recap: Gulliford breaks off league-leading run for Red Bluff

Red Bluff's Tucker Gulliford recorded the longest rushing play in Eastern this season in his game against Shasta last week. Gulliford ran for 93 yards on the play and finished with 145 on the day as his team fell to the Wolves.

Shasta was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to third in the league. Aaron Gingery's team vanquished Red Bluff 32-31 earlier in the week.

Gavin Graham was the best wideout in the league this week as the Wolves defeated Corey Hein's team. Graham tallied two receptions for 148 yards. Drew Scrima helped Shasta's passing attack out by catching one ball for 30 yards.

Daniel Robbins threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns. He was 11-18 with two interceptions.

K.C. Toombs provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Shasta bested the Spartans. He completed 12 passes for 166 yards and also ran for 17 yards.

On the ground, Red Bluff's Gulliford has rushed for 625 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Cooper Janusveskis. The Foothill star has 19 catches for 334 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Paradise takes on second place Enterprise. Last week, Paradise defeated Foothill, while Enterprise topped Chico.

Next week's game between the Panthers and the Spartans will feature a tantalizing aerial matchup as Robbins tests his arm against Sean Freeny's defensive ability. Chico's Robbins has thrown for 1282 yards and 11 touchdowns this year, while Freeny has racked up one interceptions for Red Bluff.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Hornets take on the Bobcats. Enterprise has allowed 100 points this season, while Paradise has given up 99. The Hornets allowed 34 points last week as they defeated Jason Alvistur's team.

There should be lots of points scored when the Panthers and the Spartans face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Chico comes in having scored 170 this season, while Red Bluff has scored 174. The Panthers scored 34 points last week as they fell to Enterprise.

Pleasant Valley moved up to 597 from 654 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Vikings were able to make the jump by beating the Vikings 42-7.
