Softball Recap: Ashwaubenon Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Pulaski typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Ashwaubenon proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Red Raiders by a score of 5-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-2 back in April.

Berritt Herr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Grace Aichele, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple was her first of the season.

Ashwaubenon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pulaski struck out 11 times.

Ashwaubenon pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Pulaski, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-10.

Looking ahead, Ashwaubenon will challenge Green Bay Southwest at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars are facing the Fighting Trojans at the right time seeing as the Fighting Trojans are stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for Pulaski, they are taking a road trip to challenge West De Pere at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
