Baseball Recap: Ocean Springs Victorious

Gulfport typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Ocean Springs proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Admirals by a score of 5-1. The Greyhounds haven't had any issues with the Admirals recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Tristen Fox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cannon Hensarling was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Ocean Springs' victory bumped their record up to 21-5-1. As for Gulfport, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-8.

Ocean Springs will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Admirals: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
