Recap: Sunnybrook Christian Lions vs. Gloria Deo Academy Lions
After a string of nine wins, The Sunnybrook Christian Lions''s good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They and Gloria Deo Academy were almost perfectly matched up, but Sunnybrook Christian suffered an agonizing 21-20 loss.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kayden Martin, who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Elijah Newman was in the mix as well, providing Sunnybrook Christian with two touchdowns.
Evan Spondike was the offensive standout of the game as he picked up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Sunnybrook Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-1. As for Gloria Deo Academy, their victory was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-1.
Sunnybrook Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gloria Deo Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
