Softball Recap: Fort Edward Extends Winning Streak to Two

Fort Edward won against North Warren Central last Wednesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Flying Forts didn't even let the Hadley Luzerne Eagles on the board, marking the Flying Forts' second-straight 12-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Flying Forts, who have now won four games by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Bradie Tyler was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Mackenzie Keeley was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Kylynne Wilbur was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

The win made it two in a row for Fort Edward and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Hadley Luzerne, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Fort Edward and Hadley Luzerne will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Flying Forts see the field they'll take on Hartford Central at 4:30 p.m. on the 21st. As for Hadley Luzerne, their break will end when they face Waterford-Halfmoon at 4:30 p.m. on the 21st.
