League recap: Miller-McCoy Academy gains ground in national rankings

3A District 10 recap October 22, 2013

Miller-McCoy Academy made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,116 from 10,356. The advance stemmed from a 50-0 victory over Clark last week.

Miller-McCoy Academy led 3A District 10 in scoring this week after putting up 50 points on the Bulldogs.

Tyler Lavergne has thrown for 382 yards and 2 touchdowns this season, while Clyde Thomas has 16 catches for 218 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Clark takes on Jefferson. As it stands, Terry Freeman's team is in third, while Jefferson is in first.

There should be lots of points scored when the Bulldogs and Kevin Kelly's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Clark comes in having scored 40 this season, while Jefferson has scored 100. The Bulldogs scored 0 points last week as they fell to Miller-McCoy Academy.

Miller-McCoy Academy had a great defensive game this week, leading the league in points allowed with 0.
