Softball Recap: Mapletown Takes a Loss

If Mapletown was feeling good fresh off their 18-4 takedown of California last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Mapletown came up short against the Washington Prexies on Tuesday, falling 14-4. The Maples were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Prexies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Makenna Lotspeich made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs.

Mapletown's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Mapletown has already played their next game, an 11-1 victory against Turkeyfoot Valley Area on the 19th. As for Washington, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-2 win against Avella on the 20th.
