Basketball Recap: Waccamaw Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Waccamaw came into Thursday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Latta Vikings with a sharp 59-34 win on Thursday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Vikings are ranked 49th).

Waccamaw's record is now 4-8. As for Latta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season.

Waccamaw will take on Latta in a tournament on Saturday. As for Latta, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pee Dee Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Pee Dee Academy will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Latta surely won't give up without a fight.
