Basketball Recap: Hazlehurst Takes a Loss

Hazlehurst lost against Jefferson Davis County back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hazlehurst Indians had to suffer through a 74-43 loss at the hands of the Jefferson Davis County Jaguars. The Indians were down 55-33 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

When it comes to explaining why Hazlehurst lost, don't look at Jakavion Johnson. Despite the final result, he posted 18 points. Wayne Crisler was another key player, putting up eight points.

Hazlehurst's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Jefferson Davis County, they pushed their record up to 6-11 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Crystal Springs the next time they take the court. Jefferson Davis County will host Crystal Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Hazlehurst will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
