Soccer Game Preview: Glendora vs. Walnut

The Glendora Tartans will take on the Walnut Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Glendora has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 7.

Glendora is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Bonita on Thursday. Glendora fell 2-0 to Bonita. While losing is never fun, the Tartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 611th, while the Bearcats are ranked 88th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Walnut, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let Diamond Bar onto the board and left with a 1-0 win on Thursday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Mustangs were the better team in the second half.

Walnut's victory bumped their record up to 10-4-4. As for Glendora, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Glendora suffered a grim 8-3 defeat to Walnut when the teams last played back in January. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Glendora was down 6-3.
