League recap: Frayne overpowering for Highland in past week

Southeast Yosemite league recap: 4/3/13

Southeast Yosemite's top pitcher this week was Highland's Walker Frayne. He won one game and struck out five batters.

North outperformed the rest of the league this week, as its three total wins led the league. The Stars beat Porterville 5-3.

The Scots' pitchers were the toughest in the league on opposing hitters this week, giving up only three hits. Highland has surrendered a mere 78 hits this season in 15 games.

There were five hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. The group was paced by Jake Sweaney, who collected three hits in four at bats for a .750 average.

Jake Sweaney drove in five home runs this week.



Sagun Gainey drove in four runners on Monday in Tehachapi's 10-1 victory over Golden Valley. He went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.

Matt Strosnider led Garces to a win on March 26, as he notched nine strikeouts to beat Laguna Creek, 3-0. He gave up seven hits and zero runs over seven innings of work.
