Softball Recap: Liberty Charter Comes Up Short

If Liberty Charter was feeling good fresh off their 6-0 takedown of San Diego last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions came up short against the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens on Friday, falling 8-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ravens this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in March.

Liberty Charter saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angie Carreon, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Samantha McHenry also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Liberty Charter dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-6-1 record this season.

Liberty Charter will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against San Diego Academy at 4:00 p.m. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they will head out to square off against Valley Center at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
