Baseball Recap: Del Oro's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Del Oro had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Woodcreek Timberwolves 7-5. Winning may never get old, but the Golden Eagles sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Jack Tews made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other pitching news, Broc McReynolds looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Will Stark was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kael Lumbert, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Del Oro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodcreek only posted a batting average of .192.

Del Oro's record now sits at 21-9. As for Woodcreek, their loss dropped their record down to 18-10.

As of now, neither Del Oro nor the Timberwolves have any future games scheduled.
