Recap: Carnegie Wildcats vs. Shattuck Indians

The Carnegie Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 66-38 defeat at the hands of Shattuck. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Carnegie has suffered since December 19, 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Carnegie lost, one person who can't be blamed is Karlee Tahkofper. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Tahkofper has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Barco, who scored four points.

Even though they lost, Carnegie smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Carnegie has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Shattuck, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Carnegie will be playing in front of their home fans against Binger-Oney at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shattuck, they will head out on the road to take on Arnett at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Arnett is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
