Baseball Recap: Chilton's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Chilton dropped their record down to 10-3 on Friday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They lost 11-2 to the Kiel Raiders. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Tigers, who until this matchup were averaging four runs allowed.

Chilton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Groesschel, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Kiel, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Considering they have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Kiel's side, Cade Voelker made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Voelker was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Edward LeMieux, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
