Recap: Lebanon Yellowjackets vs. St. James Tigers
In what's become a running theme this season, the Lebanon Yellowjackets gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They blew past St. James, posting a 72-39 victory on the road. Given Lebanon's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Tigers are ranked 361st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lebanon's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Boggs, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Boggs grabbed two or more steals. Caleb Ray was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Lebanon's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for St. James, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lebanon's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Zizzers at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. As for St. James, they will face off against the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Newburg's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while the Tigers have been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
