Soccer Game Preview: Segerstrom vs. Calvary Chapel

The Segerstrom Jaguars are taking a road trip to take on the Calvary Chapel Eagles on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Segerstrom is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Kennedy just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. Neither they nor the Fighting Irish could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result kept the Jaguars happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 23, 2024.

Meanwhile, Calvary Chapel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 7-0 to Westminster. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1144th, while the Lions are ranked 483rd).

Segerstrom's draw makes their record 7-9-6 this season. As for Calvary Chapel, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Everything went Segerstrom's way against Calvary Chapel in their previous matchup back in January, as Segerstrom made off with a 9-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Segerstrom since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
