Baseball Recap: Verdigris Comes Up Short

Verdigris was the 8-0 winner over Berryhill when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cardinals fell just short of the Chiefs by a score of 4-3 on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Verdigris and nudges their season record down to 16-8. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Berryhill, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Berryhill beat Verdigris by a score of 10-1 on Tuesday.
