Softball Recap: Oakman Wildcats vs. Gordo Green Wave

Oakman had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 4-15 to make it seven. They lost 9-0 to the Gordo Green Wave. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Green Wave this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-3 back in March.

As for Gordo, the win got them back to even at 9-9. The result was nothing new for the Green Wave, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Gordo's part, not much got past Emily Adams, who gave up just seven hits to keep Oakman off the board. Adams has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Amari Jones was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Beth Skelton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Looking ahead, Oakman will be taking part in a tournament against Dora at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gordo, they will head out to face off against Carbon Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
