Softball Recap: Seton Comes Up Short

Seton and Lakota West squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Seton had to settle for second. They lost 10-2 to the Firebirds. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Saints couldn't push the score so high this time.

Seton saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayley Burman, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Seton has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season. As for Lakota West, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-12 record this season.

Seton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lakota West, they will square off against Centerville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Firebirds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Elks have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
