Football Recap: Mansfield Summit Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Mansfield Summit was feeling good fresh off their 33-7 takedown of Everman last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jaguars and the Seguin Cougars were almost perfectly matched up on Thursday, but the Jaguars suffered a 23-22 defeat. The contest was a 8-8 toss-up at halftime, but the Jaguars couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the loss, Mansfield Summit still got an impressive performance from Ian Gebhardt, who rushed for 152 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.4 yards per carry.

Even if they lost, Mansfield Summit's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Cameron Hall was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Mansfield Summit has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Seguin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Mansfield Summit does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Seguin, they will challenge Walnut Grove at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Cougars' defense better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 52.2 points per game this season.
