Baseball Recap: Southmoreland Comes Up Short

Southmoreland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the Freeport Yellowjackets, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Scotties were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2015.

Southmoreland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grey Moyer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Southmoreland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Freeport, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5.

Southmoreland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Freeport, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-4 loss against Burrell on the 7th.
