Baseball Recap: Wheeler Comes Up Short

If Wheeler was feeling good fresh off their 11-5 takedown of Griswold on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions came up short against the Norwich RVT Warriors on Thursday, falling 18-2. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Wheeler's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Norwich RVT, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Wheeler will venture away from home to face off against Killingly at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Norwich RVT, they will face off against Norwich Free Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
