Softball Recap: Pendleton Comes Up Short

Pendleton fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Palmetto on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 8-7. The Bulldogs' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Pendleton now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Palmetto, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Pendleton will venture away from home to take on Belton-Honea Path at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Palmetto, they will head out to square off against Powdersville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
