Basketball Recap: Calvary Chapel Academy Skates Past Brevard HEAT with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Calvary Chapel Academy's strategy against Brevard HEAT on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Eagles blew the Firehawks out of the water with a 73-39 final score. The Eagles pushed the score to 58-32 by the end of the third, a deficit the Firehawks had little chance of recovering from.

Calvary Chapel Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Welsh, who went 10-for-16 on his way to 24 points and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Welsh a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (57%). Noah Bolen was another key player, shooting 67% from the field en route to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Despite the loss, Brevard HEAT still got an impressive performance from Ryan Younger, who posted 16 points.

Calvary Chapel Academy has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 78.5 points this season. As for Brevard HEAT, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Calvary Chapel Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 68-29 loss against Sebastian River on the 21st. As for Brevard HEAT, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pineapple Cove Classical Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 1.
