Union Area's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Rochester Rams. The Scotties might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Korynne Shannon was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Williams is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Nogay, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Union Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .731. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Union Area's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1.
