Basketball Recap: Cameron Brower's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Farmington over Layton

Farmington suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against the Layton Lancers, falling 79-56. The Phoenix have struggled against the Lancers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Farmington's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron Brower, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Brycen Rudolph, who posted eight points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Layton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sam Romer, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Karter Miller was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Farmington's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Layton, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Farmington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 65-46 loss against Davis on the 21st. As for Layton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 84-71 victory against Weber on the 21st.
