Basketball Game Preview: Downey Christian Patriots vs. Potter's House Christian Lions

Downey Christian is 1-9 against Potter's House Christian since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Downey Christian Patriots will look to defend their home court against the Potter's House Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Downey Christian has six straight wins, Potter's House Christian has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Downey Christian will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 15 points on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Poinciana Christian Preparatory on Wednesday. Downey Christian blew past Poinciana Christian Preparatory, posting a 76-41 victory. The game marked the Patriots' most dominant win of the season.

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Lions on Thursday. Potter's House Christian lost to The Rock National on the road by a 91-72 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (61), Potter's House Christian still had to take the loss.

Potter's House Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Downey Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 18-10.
