Basketball Recap: Calhoun Christian Takes a Loss

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Cougars on Friday. The Calhoun Christian Cougars received a blow as they fell 63-47 to the Will Carleton Academy Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Will Carleton Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-39 back in December of 2024.

Will Carleton Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler Slade, who went 8 for 14 to rack up 19 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. What's more, Slade also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Thomas Maier, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 17 boards.

Calhoun Christian is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13. As for Will Carleton Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.

Calhoun Christian has already played their next contest (against Union City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Will Carleton Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 48-24 win against Jackson Preparatory & Early College on the 11th.
